Matcha Green Tea Latte Recipes

The Classic Matcha Latte

The trick to this classic style beverage is to make the tea first, then add the milk.

  • Sift 1 tsp Gotcha Matcha into your favorite matcha bowl or teacup
  • Prepare matcha by adding 2 oz hot water and stirring until matcha becomes a smooth paste
  • Froth 6 oz milk  – try almond milk – and combine with matcha
  • Sprinkle with matcha dust or cocoa powder

  • Add vanilla, almond or chai flavors
  • Sweeten with honey or agave nectar

Adjust quantities to taste. There are no rules. Some people may prefer more milk and more tea or vice versa.

Our customers often ask

What are the health benefits of match tea?

All matcha teas are rich in nutrients and antioxidants, especially the potent and renowned catechin, EGCg. The health benefits of matcha tea exceed those of green tea because when you drink matcha you ingest the whole leaf, not just the brewed water. One glass of matcha is the equivalent of 10 glasses of green tea in terms of its nutritional value and antioxidant content. For maximum nutritional benefit, matcha tea is unparalleled. Health Benefits of Matcha

Will matcha tea help me lose weight?

Studies indicate that consuming matcha daily helps to increase the body’s rate of burning calories (thermogenesis). This effect is not caused by caffeine. At the same time, matcha does not put any stress on the body. It doesn’t raise blood pressure or heart rate, making it a safe alternative to questionable quick fixes or pharmaceuticals ridden with side effects.

Can I add matcha to my morning smoothie and still get all the nutrients?

Yes. Matcha is an incredibly flexible ingredient and a simple way to add mega nutrients to your morning drink. However, it’s best to avoid combining with cow’s milk dairy as this can block the bio-availability of matcha’s antioxidants. Read more on our Matcha Recipes page.

How is matcha stored?

Store match in your refrigerator in an air-tight, light tight container. Matcha does not “spoil” but color, flavor and aroma will degrade over time.
Once opened, use within 2 to 4 weeks for maximum freshness and best taste.
